Principal's Message

Ann Allen, Principal

Happy New Year everyone! I trust that you have all thoroughly enjoyed the holiday break and are happy to be back at school.

First, I would like to again thank you all for the generous donations made to some very deserving students and their families. I can assure you that your overwhelming generosity made a significant difference in how these families celebrated the holidays. McAuliffe's school community is kind, compassionate and regularly gives to those in need. It is a privilege to work on your behalf.
School activities didn't stop over vacation. The Make-A-Wish club was featured as a "Showcase School" at the foundation's Winter Leadership Summit on Tuesday, January 3rd. Club advisors and members from all over Orange County met to network and learn from one another's successes. Our own Ms. Valerie Miller was asked to speak, detailing our club's accomplishments and ideas for fundraising. I was amazed to learn that McAuliffe's chapter is already over halfway to its goal of making another child's wish come true! With over 40 dedicated students working together I can only imagine the happiness they will bring to another child by the end of the school year. Another thank you to our school community for supporting your children's efforts in making the world a happier place for children in need.
This will be a busy month prior to the conclusion of the first semester on Thursday, January 26th. Please watch the school calendar closely for important dates and times. Teachers will be attending a variety of trainings, students will be working hard to close out the first half of the school year with the best grades possible, parents will be attending district task force meetings and our PTA will continue to hold fundraisers and school activities to serve our students. Let's work together to achieve only the best for every McAuliffe student!

Lastly, a reminder that we welcome all parents, and are always available to help in any way that we can. Please feel free to drop in to see myself, Mr. Bowen, Mrs. Foley and Mrs. Bergeron if you have questions, concerns or if you'd just like to say
Happy New Year!

Annie Allen, Principal

  • STEAM Fair 2016 a Hugh Success!

McAuliffe’s STEAM Fair, sponsored by LAEF, was held this past Friday and it was a remarkable event! With over 130 students participating, rooms 60 & 61 were filled with students’ experiments. Science classes visited throughout the day, and student presenters talked about their findings. A big thank you to Mrs. Ann Neufeld, coordinator of the event, and to all of the science teachers who assisted students with their experiment designs after school over the last few months. And another thank you to LAEF, for supporting McAuliffe students and STEAM education.
